Doulas are the guardians of intimacy. The sisters in the journey of becoming a mother.
We provide a warm presence during pregnancy, birth and postpartum. Doulas support the pregnant woman, the family and the new born mother, while also providing information so that you can make conscious and informed decisions.
During pregnancy, the woman is in a state of grace, it is a unique moment in her life. As a doula I support you to develop awareness and to follow your own path.
I am by your side to welcome the emotions that arise, to release fears and memories related to your family line and those of your own birth. I give you benevolent listening, emotional, logistical and practical support. My work with families consists of providing physical and emotional support together with knowledge and in-depth vision so that they can go through the passage of becoming a mother and a father in a conscious and healthy way. My mission is that they can find their own unique formula to grow and flourish through these challenging times, full of transformation. I believe that if our culture were more aware of the importance of birth and motherhood, understanding them as processes that transform not only women but society as a whole, the world we inhabit would be completely different.
The doula is not a health professional, therefore she does not perform medical interventions on the mother or the baby and does not interfere with the work of the obstetrician, pediatrician or midwife.
Doula is the guardian of intimacy, she is a loving figure who does not impose herself on the decisions of the mother and her companion. On the contrary, she helps them to empower themselves and live the birth of their baby in the best possible way.
Different studies along with the opinion of birth experts claim that the company of a Doula helps to:
Eliminates the need for other interventions
Higher self-esteem, less anxiety and less depression.
Generates a positive effect on breastfeeding
Shorten the time of delivery
Reduces the risk of a C-section.
Reduces the use of forceps and vacuum.
The figure of the doula has existed since ancient times. Currently, it is re-emerging as a result of a social request marked by women and families who feel the need to be accompanied in another way during pregnancy, childbirth and puerperium.
Doulas arise to retake the support network among women, to recover the reality of motherhood as a vital crisis in women's lives and to regain the space and position that they deserve.
